Kinefinity VISTA Makes Its First Hands-On Debut at Westerpark Studio

On June 14, Westerpark Studio hosted the Amsterdam debut event for the Kinefinity VISTA Personal Cinema Camera, giving attendees their first hands-on experience with this new compact cinema camera.

The event brought filmmakers, cinematographers, content creators and camera enthusiasts together to explore the VISTA up close. Guests had the opportunity to handle the camera, test its workflow and discover how its full-frame cinema capabilities translate into real production environments.

At Westerpark Studio, we always value moments where new technology meets the creative community. The Kinefinity VISTA debut was not only a camera presentation, but also a shared experience around image-making, mobility and the future of independent production.

Full Cinema. Personal Scale.

The Kinefinity VISTA is designed for filmmakers who want professional image quality without the size, weight and complexity of a traditional cinema rig. It brings a full-frame cinema experience into a compact CNC-machined aluminum body, making it suitable for solo filmmaking, travel productions, commercials, documentaries, music videos and narrative work.

At the heart of the camera is a Full-Frame 6K 3:2 Open Gate sensor, recording at 6016 × 3984. This gives creators more flexibility in post-production for reframing, cropping, stabilization, vertical delivery and anamorphic workflows. The camera also offers 14 stops of latitude and Dual Base ISO 800 / 5120, allowing it to perform across controlled sets, available light and low-light environments.

Built for Real Cinema Workflows

VISTA is more than a compact video camera. It is built around production-ready cinema tools, including KineLOG3 color science, built-in 709 and Neutral 3D LUTs, loadable and burn-in monitoring LUT support, native anamorphic support for full-frame and Super 35 formats, and recording options including ProRes 422HQ and H.265 Max / High / Normal.

One of the standout features is its integrated 4-inch 6:5 Retina OLED monitor, designed especially for Open Gate shooting. With 700 nits brightness and a 360° flip-and-rotate design, the monitor supports handheld, gimbal, tripod and compact solo-shooting setups without always requiring a large external monitor.

Compact, Flexible and Ready to Shoot

The VISTA includes a built-in 220GB SSD, allowing users to power on and start recording without immediately depending on external media. For larger or more professional workflows, it also supports CFexpress Type B media. The camera can record simultaneously to the internal SSD and CFexpress Type B card, creating an on-camera backup during production.

Despite its cinema-focused feature set, the VISTA remains highly portable. It weighs 610g without battery and 700g with the GripBAT-2Si, with compact body dimensions of 101 × 87 × 65 mm. Power consumption can be as low as 7.5W, making it well suited for mobile productions and longer shooting days.

A First Look in Amsterdam

The Amsterdam debut at Westerpark Studio gave attendees the chance to experience the VISTA not just as a specification sheet, but as a real production tool. Its compact body, full-frame 6K Open Gate recording, built-in monitoring, efficient power use and flexible media options made it especially interesting for filmmakers working with small crews, mobile setups and independent production workflows.

Bringing new technology into the field and sharing these experiences with the creative community is always inspiring. The Kinefinity VISTA reflects a growing shift in cinema production: powerful image-making tools are becoming smaller, more flexible and more accessible to a wider range of creators.

With VISTA, Kinefinity brings full-frame cinema performance into a personal-scale camera system — a compact yet powerful option for the next generation of filmmakers.
